APeL performs research about learningAPeL’s research is concentrated at workplace learning and sustainable development at workplaces. We strongly believe that both individuals and organisations can become learning, and that these ambitions can walk hand in hand. Our work is documented and published in books, reports and research papers. |
What is APeL?APeL R & D is a national centre for interactive research and development in workplace learning. APeL is close to the academic world and its research, as well as to the society and to commercial and industrial life. We want to stimulate workplace learning and organisational development. |
A sustainable developmentAn important task for APeL is to contribute to the sustainability of development processes. We aim at long-term effects, not short-term outcomes. We want theory and practice to combine in the learning processes and we also want to show how cooperation between different actors can be an element in a strategy for sustainable change. |

A Swedish book authored by Göran Brulin and Lennart Svensson will soon be released in English. The English title will be Managing Sustainable Development Programmes - A Learning Approach
The book shares the experiences from fifty years of development work. It is highly interesting for all who are actively working with large projects as well as for students, researchers, evaluators and administrators.
